Hi Sue and Lou:
Thought I should report that Andy is likely the most lovable, intelligent, and well-behaved puppy ever.
We are very pleased at how calm yet attentive he is, curious and not cowed but amenable to direction.
Took him for a brief walk up at the cottage – around the yard, down to the boat – and he naturally went
to our side, walking right along, deviating only now and then to bring the occasional pine cone into
submission.
He made the adaptation to our home without a whimper, quickly bonding with the three of us. With
Saturday taking us up to the cottage, that meant three homes in not many more days. He is not the
least bothered, adventuresome and lovable as ever. Almost constant attention from one or the other
of us surely helps.
Saturday night at the cottage, Cyndie and I were on the couch watching a DVD along with Andy.
(I think Andy’s media preferences run to NPR and the BBC but I’ve not convinced Cyndie of this fact yet.)
As we got drowsy, I found my way to bed. Cyndie and Andy both slept the night through on the couch,
soundly and comfortable. A.M. came and as I wandered into the living room, spotted Andy curled at
Cyndie’s feet. He spotted me first, though, and was quickly up with joyous little barks of welcome. The
excited barks were undeniably expressing his pleasure at finding I had not permanently disappeared into
the night.
Prior to that experience, I thought I knew what having a dog was about. But, I didn’t really have a clue.
Thanks so much for this gift.
My best,
Bruce

Hi Sue:
Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. Thought I would share this photo of "the kids" joining us at our
Thanksgiving Day dinner. They have excellent table manners.
By the way, splint came out of Lucy's ear over the weekend, and the ear is staying up unaided and perfectly.
Cheers

HI Sue,
Just wondering if you might be able to take Andy and Lucy while we travel to San Francisco for our annual
business meetings. We are supposed to be gone from November 15 thru the 20th. We leave at 6:00 AM on
Thursday the 15th and return in the afternoon on Tuesday the 20th. If you are willing we would bring them to
you on Wednesday evening the 14th. Let us know if they can come visit grandma and grandpa. They have
gotten to the stage of being extremely funny around the house. And they looked great in their new Halloween
costumes. We'll bring the pictures, and the ones from his championship, as well. Let me know if this does not
inconvenience you. Thanks again,
Cyndie
