Good morning, Sue!
I just got to work and a message to you is the first order of business! My vet was pleased with Glory
and she passed her exam with flying colors this morning.
She has been a delight this weekend. She's walking on lead as if she'd been doing it for months.
She and I took a leisurely stroll for an hour very early Saturday morning before most people were up
and about. It was quiet for her and she came with me with only a little verbal coaxing. By the time
that first walk was over, she was an "old pro" for leash walking and we'd really bonded. She
responds so well to positive praise. Her stools are normal. She's found her favorite "spot" and is
learning to associate the word "potty" with her performance there.
As for Glory and Venus---they are having a marvelous time. Venus was so happy to see her come in
the door and they haven't had any spats....just play. They both want the same toy at the same time,
of course, so there are lots of tugs of war but no fighting. They play tag at full speed around the
living room. Each of them thinks the other one has better food in their dish so Venus checks Glory's
bowl and eats and Glory checks Venus' bowl and eats even though they are identical. Golly, they
are comical! Glory caught on to the water bottle on her kennel immediately and drinks there with
gusto.
Bryan came over to see her as soon as he could and he's loving her, too. He got his second major
in Des Moines this weekend with Achilles. Only 3 points to go to his Championship.
Sue, thank you so much for the generous bag of supplies and toys you sent. I was almost to the
"deer in the headlight" stage by the time we reached your house so I hope you know how much Glory
is loved and that I'll do my best to be sure that she has a happy and carefree life. She's definitely
brightening mine. I'm going to get a digital camera and hope to get some pictures of the girls
together which I'll send once I figure it out.
Thank you again and I hope we'll see each other at a show before too many months go by.
Sincerely,
Phyllis
